A fictional potter at her wheel in a timber workshop

Made at their own pace

Rural Kurzeme, Latvia

In this imagined Austra workshop, the morning starts with a wood stove and a pot of tea. Clay vessels dry on timber shelves, while bundles of willow wait beside the window.

Two friends work in different crafts: one throws pottery, the other weaves baskets. They share a preference for simple, useful things that earn their place in a home. Small batches leave room for the natural texture of each material.

This example shows how Austra will introduce real makers through the people, work and surroundings behind their products.
